Investors have long used shares in bitcoin miners to gain exposure to the digital currency, but there are better options available now.

Bitcoin hit a new record high late Monday, its value peaking at $89,623 as investors quickly moved to cash in on expectations that Donald Trump will end a White House crackdown that intensified last year on crypto.

Bitcoin surged to a record of more than $75,000, as cryptocurrency investors celebrated President-elect Donald J. Trump’s prospects after his decisive win on Wednesday.

Bitcoin jumped nearly 8% in early trading, climbing above $75,000 and smashing its previous record set in March. Other cryptocurrencies also soared, including ether, the world’s second most popular cryptocurrency after bitcoin, which rallied 8%.

Dozens of domestic and foreign 'bitcoiners' met at the Adopting Bitcoin conference just outside the Salvadoran capital, with the Central American country hyping its status as a hub for the promotion of digital currency trading.
