Tens of thousands of people gathered at a stadium in Lebanon's capital Beirut to mourn Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, in a public funeral nearly five months after he was killed by an Israeli air strike.

The Iran-backed Lebanese militant group held an elaborate commemoration for its longtime leader, Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed by Israel in September.

Longtime Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was buried on Sunday after a massive funeral procession in Beirut, nearly five months after he was killed in an Israeli airstrike during the latest Israel-Hezbollah war.

A funeral was held for former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut last September. During the service, Israeli jets flew overhead as the IDF also conducted strikes in southern and eastern parts of the Lebanon.

The funeral of Hassan Nasrallah, the Hezbollah leader who was assassinated last year, was staged as a show of political strength at a crucial time. Nasrallah was an almost mythical figure who ruled the group for 32 years before his death.
