ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Go figure, a top-five matchup that lived up to its billing. And Michigan came out on top. The No. 3-ranked Wolverines went wire to wire with unbeaten Nebraska on Tuesday night, trailing for most of the game before a late flurry sparked a 75-72 victory at Crisler Center.
The No. 5 Cornhuskers went into Michigan and controlled most of Tuesday's matchup against the 3rd-ranked Wolverines. But Michigan kept things close in the face of hot early 3-point shooting from Nebraska and rallied for a 75-72 win.
Michigan had the ball, down 70-67, when Cadeau threw a full-court pass to Mara, who was stripped for the 18th turnover of the game. U-M got within one when Lendeborg made a pair from the stripe with 3:36 to play only for Lawrence to score a layup on a back-cut to go back up three, 72-69.
The Huskers head into the matchup with a 20-0 record and are looking to take firm control atop the Big Ten Conference.
