President Donald Trump has issued a statement that he will instruct the federal government to begin releasing all of its files related to UFOs.

The president said he would direct the DOD and other related agencies to “begin the process of identifying and releasing government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life” as well as UFOs.

In a Truth Social post, the U.S. president said his move was based on the "tremendous interest" in the subject, without providing additional details.

Trump's comments came hours after he claimed that former President Barack Obama shared 'classified information' when he told a podcaster recently that he believed aliens were real.
