Julio César Chávez Jr. is the firstborn son and namesake of the man considered the best Mexican boxer in history.

Mexican boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., son of the legendary fighter, has been arrested and is being processed for "expedited removal" from the United States due to alleged ties to the Sinaloa Cartel, the Department of Homeland Security announced Thursday.

Chávez, formerly the world middleweight champion, was detained by immigration officials in California. He is wanted on organized crime charges in Mexico, DHS said.
