Austin Pets Alive! is asking for the public's help after the organization took in about 60 pets following severe flooding in Kerr and Williamson counties. It is also seeking assistance for Kerr and Williamson County shelters.

As a deadly "flood wave" swept through Kerr County, Texas, on the Fourth of July, miles and miles of damage were left behind.

AccuWeather said the private forecasting company and the National Weather Service sent warnings about potential flash flooding hours before the devastation.
