CAIRO (AP) — Doctors Without Borders on Monday halted its operations in Sudan’s famine-stricken Zamzam camp due to an escalation of attacks and fighting in the vicinity.

Doctors Without Borders, or Médecins Sans Frontières, has been forced to halt lifesaving aid in a famine-hit camp in Sudan as fighting escalates. As a result of the halt, more than half a million people are starving and trapped without medical aid.

Medical charity MSF has been forced to suspend its activities in a famine-stricken camp in Sudan's North Darfur because of heavy fighting in the area, it said on Monday.
