The Northland Family Planning Center is asking a Michigan Court of Claims judge to find three abortion laws are unconstitutional.
Abortion providers had sued the state last year, arguing a ballot proposal passed in 2022 makes certain abortion restrictions unconstitutional.
That amendment, called Reproductive Freedom for All, was passed by voters in 2022. Attorneys with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office argue that the 24-hour waiting period does not burden access to abortion.
