Delaware voters went to polling places across the state Tuesday to cast ballots for an election that promised significant turnover at the state level, in addition to a bitterly contested presidential race.

The wins were expected. Delaware hasn’t had a Republican governor in more than 30 years, a Republican Senator in more than 20 years and a Republican Representative in more than a decade. The last time a Republican presidential candidate won the state was in 1988, when former President George H.W. Bush was elected.
