Colorado weather: Severe thunderstorm watch in effect till 9 p.m. for Denver metro, eastern Colorado
A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of the Denver metro and eastern Colorado until 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
More than 800 flights into and out of the airport have been delayed Tuesday, according to FlightAware. DENVER — Departures to Denver International Airport were grounded Tuesday afternoon due to thunderstorms in the area.
T he FAA issued a ground stop at Denver International Airport on Monday afternoon due to thunderstorms. The ground stop was issued at 1:25 p.m. and will continue until 2:30 p.m. According to the FAA, the probability of an extension for the ground stop is ranked at medium, or 30%-60%.

BRUSH, Colo — A landspout tornado touched down east of Brush in Morgan County on Colorado's Eastern Plains Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The tornado was spotted around 3:48 p.m. between Brush and Akron. It lasted about five minutes, according to the NWS.
Flights trying to leave Denver on Tuesday saw delays ranging from 30 minutes to more than 3 hours, FAA officials said. Incoming flights were delayed between 46 minutes and an hour on average.
