GMM Music, one of Thailand's largest music companies has released a song for viral baby Pygmy hippo Moo Deng.

Moo Deng translates into “bouncy pig” or “bouncy pork” and is the name of a special type of meatball native to Thailand. Fans on social media point out that the baby hippo’s name is appropriate, as she is constantly seen slipping, bouncing, prancing, jolting, jiggling and instigating in live feeds and videos shared by the zoo.

Edinburgh Zoo playfully started (and then quickly ended) a rivalry with Moo Deng, Thailand’s viral sensation. Haggis is a Scottish pudding prepared by cooking sheep organs inside the animal’s stomach, in which it is also served. It’s known as an acquired taste.

The upbeat 50-second song “Moodeng Moodeng," available in Thai, English, Chinese and Japanese versions, features simple lyrics like “Moo Deng Moo Deng, boing boing boing/ Mommy mommy, play with me.” Its music video consists of short clips of the baby hippo bouncing, playing with her keeper or hanging out with her mom Jona.

In a video posted on TikTok by the Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi province, Thailand’s viral baby hippo, Moo Deng, “predicted” a win for former president Donald Trump. The viral video shows Moo Deng choosing between two watermelon cakes, both covered with the name of each presidential candidate, Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.
