HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - The man who shot and killed a Hinds County deputy over the weekend had seven felony arrests, 18 misdemeanor arrests and zero convictions at the time of his death. This according to Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones.

Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said a deputy has died after being shot on Midway Road in Terry. He said the deputy, 37-year-old Martin Shields, Jr., was responding to a domestic call for service. According to the sheriff,
