The United States men's national team is through to the Concacaf Gold Cup semifinals after besting Costa Rica in a penalty shootout at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Sunday. The U.S. had a perfect group stage with three wins, and followed it up by besting former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas on penalties.

Damion Downs scored in the sixth round of a shootout after three saves by Matt Freese, sending the U.S. to the semifinals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup with a 4-3 penalty-kicks win over Costa Rica after a a 2-2 tie.

Downs, another second half substitute, is up to score what could be the winning spotkick in this shootout and he manages just that! The USMNT will face Guatemala in the semifinals on Wednesday. It's Rojas who's up for Costa Rica now and Freese makes his THIRD save of the shootout!
