Avalanche causes deadliest day in Mount Everest history

A massive avalanche thundered down Annapurna I, one of Nepal’s highest peaks, and swept through the northern base camp in the Myagdi District. Reports say the slide began around 4,100 metres, engulfing tents and sending trekkers and guides scrambling for cover.
